Objective: Seriation
Program 4
Response Definition - CK will seriate pictures of specific objects, e.g., a sun, a house, a cat, etc.
Teaching Procedure - The therapist should give CK the seriation cards or pictures and state, "Put the _____ together". Prior to the presentation of the seriation cards, the therapist should place 1/First, 2/Next, and 3/Last cards on the table as visual cues for CK. Depending on the set on which we are working, the therapist will then prompt CK through a specified number of the seriation cards in a backward chaining manner. If CK does not begin to respond within 3 seconds or responds incorrectly, physically prompt him through the entire seriation chain while stating, "first, next, last" as appropriate and then immediately re-present the SD. Mastery criteria are 80% for 2 sessions before increasing the length of the sequence.
Data Collection - Provide CK with opportunities per session to correctly seriate the construction of an object. Follow data collection protocol. Please record on his DIPR how many steps were seriated correctly and which object it was.
