Vonics VOIP Sucks - I Want my Sunrocket Back!

For the past few days we are, again, not receiving phone calls that connect. I answer the phone and the person on the other end just gets disconnected. Plus over the past 2 days I have not been able to make calls without getting many busy signals - yet they are not really busy as it was several different numbers - all that had answering services.

I am looking for another phone system that is somewhat reliable. Vonics is quite bad. I'd rather pay more and get reliable service. Any suggestions?

I first tried VOIP when I got the Cablevision triple play package and it worked quite well. When I moved into Comcast territory I decided it was much too expensive. I tried SunRocket . . . they went out of business. I tried JoiPhone . . . it was awful and I still haven't gotten my money back. Then I moved to Skype. They're not the typical VOIP provider as it was originally designed to make computer-computer calls, but you can purchase phones now that connect to your computer or your router. I got a cellphone type phone that connects to my wireless network (at home, at work, or on the road) and unlimited incoming and outgoing calls are only $100 for an entire year. It's at least checking out. If you don't like that idea, you could always get a landline for incoming calls and use skype for outgoing calls -- that would still be cheaper than most VOIP options.

That's interesting, I didn't know Skype had a phone that could connect like that. I'm signing up with vonage right now and I can't believe it but they actually seem to have some sort of live customer care. I'm transferring my number from vonics to vonage right now. I hope it works.
